This generative artwork was created by in response to B C Manjunath’s Fibonacci Konnakol composition and performance. Konnakol is the South Indian Carnatic art of vocal percussion using rhythmic syllables. The piece follows a distinctive Tala, a metric cycle based on the Fibonacci sequence (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21). Inspired by this, the composer developed a program on Max/MSP that visualises each rhythmic progression and phrase in real time through synaesthetic colors and shapes. The work seeks to reflect the mathematical and rhythmic harmony of the composition on the canvas.
